Moving Figures
2018

Simple is beautiful. The artist achieved a visual and plastic expression, using a very simple concept: a female or a male  black silhouette walking, on flat and colored background. The visual effect on the viewer is amazing, even brutal, because of its simplicity. Moving Figures (2018), the 16th theme of his carrier, is about an impression of a moment of someone walking to somewhere. We don’t know much about these people, but we can guess a lot. Some wander aimlessly, with no direction home, others have a purpose and walk more assertively. Representing, here, only black silhouettes, Pintomeira doesn't tell us much about emotions or feelings, since, in this particular case, there is no visible facial expression. However, we can guess a lot if we observe the gesture, the posture, the way they walk or what they carry.
On the technical matter, the artist worked with acrylic on canvas, with flat brush strokes and pastel tonalities, vibrant colors or grays, on the background.
